Editorial policy
Northern Stage Stories aims to be accurate, fair and clear about what it knows. Our articles are written for general readers and do not pretend that one account can stand for every rural company or performance.
Accuracy and context
We check names, descriptions and other factual details against suitable information before publication, and distinguish established facts from interpretation. Where a subject is disputed or details are uncertain, we say so plainly rather than presenting an inference as settled fact.
Independence and interests
Editorial decisions are made for their relevance to readers, not as a condition of a commercial relationship. Partners do not receive control over our editorial conclusions. Any material created with a partner, or any other paid placement, is clearly labelled so readers can see its nature.
Corrections
If a reader spots a factual error, they can send the article title and a clear description through the Contact page. We review correction requests and amend confirmed errors, making the change clear when it materially affects the article.
Illustrations
Some illustrations may be AI-generated. We identify them as such where they appear, and do not present an illustrative image as documentary evidence of a real performance, person or place.
A stage belongs to its place
A play takes its shape from more than the script: the room, the company and the habits of an audience all leave their mark.
